Position Summary The High School English Teacher is called to serve Christ by educating, equipping, and discipling students through excellence in English Language Arts instruction within a Christ-centered learning environment. This individual supports the school's mission, adheres to biblical principles, and fulfills instructional and reporting responsibilities consistent with ACSI accreditation and Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP) participation. Essential Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum Provide high-quality instruction in English Language Arts (literature, composition, grammar, speaking, and critical thinking) aligned with the school's curriculum and Wisconsin-model academic standards where applicable. Design and implement lesson plans that reflect a logical sequence, incorporate varied instructional strategies, and meet the developmental needs of students. Integrate faith and learning by teaching from a biblical worldview consistent with ACSI Philosophy of Christian Education guidelines. Maintain high academic expectations while supporting differentiated instruction for diverse learners. Assessment & Compliance Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction. Administer and support WPCP‑required state assessments (e.g., Forward Exam, Pre

) in compliance with DPI mandates. Maintain accurate academic records and documentation Classroom Environment & Student Care Establish a classroom climate that promotes respect, biblical character, engagement, and positive behavior. Uphold school discipline policies and assist administration in maintaining a safe, orderly learning environment. Take reasonable precautions to protect the safety, well-being, and confidentiality of students. Professional Responsibilities Maintain professional competence through ongoing professional development. Participate in staff meetings, professional learning opportunities, parent‑teacher conferences, and school events. Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student success and school improvement. Model Christ‑like conduct, integrity, and professionalism in all relationships. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain ACSI Secondary Teacher Certification within three (3) years from date of hire. Demonstrated evidence of Christian faith, active church involvement, and agreement with the school's Statement of Faith. Completion of all background checks and employment requirements Preferred / Highly Recommended Qualifications Degree in English, Education, or a closely related field. Prior teaching experience at the secondary level. Familiarity with Wisconsin Parental Choice Program accountability, assessment, and reporting expectations. Previous experience in an ACSI‑accredited or faith‑based school environment. Possession of or eligibility for a Wisconsin DPI teaching license (not required but encouraged). Physical & Work Requirements Ability to perform the essential functions of classroom instruction in a K-12 school environment, including standing, walking, and moving throughout classrooms and campus facilities for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds, including instructional materials and classroom resources. Ability to use fine and gross motor skills to operate instructional technology, prepare materials, and engage in written and digital communication. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, families, and colleagues. Ability to supervise students and respond appropriately to instructional, behavioral, and safety needs. Ability to participate in school‑related activities outside the regular instructional day, including meetings, conferences, and events, as required.
