High School English Teacher

Eastern Greene High School is seeking a dedicated and student-focused High School English Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create an engaging and supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth in reading, writing, communication, and critical thinking skills. This position will work collaboratively with the English Department and school staff to provide high-quality instruction aligned with Indiana Academic Standards while supporting students in becoming confident and effective communicators. Qualifications Appropriate Indiana licensure in English required Experience, knowledge, and/or certification in honors programs such as AP, IB, or dual credit preferred Interest in sponsoring/coaching extra-curricular activities preferred Strong classroom management and organizational skills Effective communication and collaboration skills Ability to integrate technology into classroom instruction Job Goals Carry out the aims and objectives of the English Department curriculum from introductory to advanced levels Instruct students in individual, small group, and large group settings for the success of all students Continue the expectation of excellence within the English Department and promote growth of programming opportunities for students Expectations Maintain high standards as a role model both in and out of the classroom while advocating the mission and objectives of the school and district Deliver standards-based instruction in person Demonstrate comfort with online instruction and classroom technology Promote good citizenship, fairness, and integrity Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Collaborate with teachers across all disciplines to enhance student learning experiences Demonstrate strong organizational and leadership skills Demonstrate reliability and preparedness in meeting daily responsibilities and assigned duties Perform additional duties as assigned by the building principal Additional Information If you would rather apply locally, you may drop off your resume and documentation at: Eastern Greene High School Or email materials to: Eric Kirkendall - ekirkendall@egreene.k12.in.us
