To Be Determined Job Description Newburyport High School is seeking a passionate and creative High School Photography Teacher to join our Visual Arts Department. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop technical photography skills while exploring artistic expression, visual storytelling, and critical thinking. Responsibilities Teach introductory through advanced photography courses to students in grades 9-12, as well as Introductory Multimedia Art 1 Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for the Arts, and National Core Arts Standards Instruct students in both digital and traditional film photography techniques Guide students in editing using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom) Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and respect Assess student work and provide meaningful feedback to support growth Maintain and manage photography equipment, studio space, digital labs, and darkroom (a plus) Organize student exhibitions and contribute to school and district-wide art showcases Collaborate with colleagues in the K-12 Fine Arts Department and across disciplines Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff Equal Opportunity Employer Newburyport Public Schools does not discriminate in its programs, activities or employment practices based on race, color, national origin, age, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.
