Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Histology Technician to join our clinical laboratory team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination, supporting diagnostic and research activities. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, contributing to patient care and scientific advancement. Candidates with a strong background in laboratory procedures, anatomy, pathology, and specimen processing are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in hospital or research laboratories is highly valued. Duties Prepare and process tissue specimens for histological analysis using various laboratory techniques Embed, section, and stain tissue samples following established protocols Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of specimens to maintain chain of custody Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety standards during all procedures Assist with specimen collection and processing, including blood draws and other sample types as needed Perform quality control checks on prepared slides and troubleshoot technical issues Maintain detailed records of all procedures performed in compliance with laboratory regulations Support research projects by preparing specimens according to experimental requirements Collaborate with pathologists, researchers, and clinical staff to ensure accurate diagnostic results Experience Clinical laboratory experience or research laboratory experience involving histology or pathology is preferred Knowledge of laboratory procedures including specimen collection, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining techniques Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathology concepts Experience with phlebotomy, vital signs measurement, and patient care is advantageous Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as aseptic technique and handling biological samples Prior hospital or healthcare setting experience is a plus but not mandatory Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and quality assurance practices This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety in all laboratory activities.
Pay:
$37.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
