Home Health Aide (HHA)/PCA Empire care agency Kew Gardens, NY Job Details Part-time | Full-time $21 - $23 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications Nursing home experience Hospice experience Assisting with ADLs Home health Bathing assistance Full Job Description Job Summary The Home Health Aide plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care to individuals in their homes or community settings. This position involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve, including individuals with disabilities, elderly clients, and those requiring hospice care. Duties Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients. Launder clothing and linens as needed to maintain a clean environment. Help clients with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort. Monitor and document vital signs, reporting any changes to the healthcare team. Assist with meal preparation and feeding as required. Maintain accurate medical documentation regarding client care and progress. Support clients in managing their daily routines while respecting their independence. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care. Engage in continuous training and development related to home community care systems. Qualifications Previous experience in a nursing home, hospice care, or similar healthcare setting is preferred. Familiarity with working with people with disabilities is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to perform basic medical tasks such as taking vital signs accurately. Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in providing high-quality care. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Certification as a Home Health Aide or equivalent training is preferred but not mandatory.
