Home Health Coder

Home Health Coder Fairfax, VA Acucare Health Strategies is seeking a home health coder to join our team. The coder will work with our clients to facilitate appropriate documentation oversight, OASIS reviews, and allocation of proper diagnosis mix codes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

: Accurately assign

ICD-10-CM

codes to diagnoses from the care plans, and documentation submitted by the client Perform OASIS review in accordance with guidelines Follow up with clients to obtain missing or incomplete information Working knowledge of SHP and PPS Analytics to ensure all OASIS checks are done and the OASIS submission goes without any errors Act as a subject matter expert regarding Coding and OASIS questions by clients and key stakeholders Keep abreast of coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements Review and identify errors and report them to a supervisor or department manager for follow-up Probe clients' clinicians when code assignments are unclear or documentation is inadequate, or ambiguous.

QUALIFICATIONS

: RN with home health experience strongly preferred RCD/VBP experience strongly desired Candidates with Coding and OASIS experience along with knowledge of

RCD/PCR/VBP

process strongly preferred Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in coding/OASIS review experience with a home health agency Strong people skills and supervisory capacity will prove tremendously helpful for success Proficiency in multiple EMR systems Excellent customer relationship management Adept with PC skills including use of Microsoft applications.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or

GED ICD-10

Home Health Certification (HCS-D or BCHH-C) mandatory OASIS Certification (COS-C or HCS-O) and OASIS-E trained mandatory 2 years' experience in Coding and OASIS review experience with a home health agency
