Onsite•Mooseheart, Illinois Schedule:
Full-Time | 6:00 AM•2:00PM Pay Range:
$18•$20 per hour Make a Meaningful Impact Every Morning Mooseheart Child City & School is seeking compassionate and dedicated professionals to join our Horizons Residential Living team as a 1st Shift Family Teacher . In this role, you will help create a supportive and structured residential environment for youth with developmental and intellectual disabilities. As part of the Horizons Residential Living program, you will be instrumental in starting each day positively for the youth, supporting morning routines, meals, and daily activities. Your role helps set the tone for the day, ensuring stability, engagement, and care for all residents. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to build meaningful relationships while supporting youth as they grow and develop. Key Responsibilities As a Horizons 1st Shift Family Teacher, you will: Ensure youth check in for the day and are prepared for their activities Prepare morning meals and help youth with breakfast Check and support completion of youth chores and morning routines Provide direct care, supervision, and support for youth in a residential home environment Take youth to off-campus appointments as necessary Attend training sessions, staff meetings, and collaborative planning as required Assist youth in developing independence, social skills, and positive coping strategies Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing home environment Administer medications as directed and follow established care plans Collaborate with the Horizons Residential Living team to support youth development and well-being Qualifications Successful candidates will demonstrate patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting youth.Preferred qualifications include:
