Job Summary:

The Assistant Horticulturist will assist with taking care of all plant material and gardens around the clubhouse and golf course, including proper installation, care and maintenance of plant materials and gardens. Job Tasks/Duties

• Plant all flower beds and plant configurations for the Club grounds, in accordance with the best horticulture practices and per Horticulturist directives.
• Plant and maintain all Club plant beds timely and proactively, avoiding interfering with daily operations as much as possible.
• Asist making and maintaining weekly and event bouquets.
• Maintain Health of indoor plants.
• Maintain the clubhouse lawns (mowing, trimming, watering), and blow leaves and debris from walkways daily.
• Works so that mulching, edging, fertilizing, planting, weeding, and watering happen timely, in all weather.
• Trim and prune hedges and shrubbery.
• Apply pesticides and fertilizers to ornamental plantings, as directed and per appropriate licensing guidelines, always using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
• Assist Ground Crews occasionally as directed.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years' experience working with flowers/plants required.
• Relevant Degree preferred; experience may satisfy educational requirements.
• Able to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, which includes, but is not limited to bending, stooping, standing and walking for long periods, lifting/carrying up to 60 lbs.
