Horticulturist/Gardner/ Organic Farmer/ Groundskeeper

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Groundskeeper to maintain and help develop a beautiful private residential estate situated on 20 acres in Appling, GA. The property features a 6,000-square-foot home, a pool, and a pond, with exciting plans for future expansion into a fully developed, sustainable oasis. This role is ideal for someone who truly enjoys working outdoors, has a love for gardening and land stewardship, and wants to be a part of creating something special from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of organic herb and vegetable gardens
• Implement and manage composting, mulching, and natural pest control methods
• Research, planning, and installation of future projects included but not limited to:
• Greenhouse construction and maintenance
• Walking paths and lighting throughout the property
• Beekeeping-Establishing and maintaining: honeybee care and hive management
• Monitor irrigation systems and ensure proper watering of all plant life
• Maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas
• Maintain and care for the overall landscape of the 20-acre estate
• Perform routine lawn care, pruning, planting, and general grounds maintenance
• Oversee upkeep of the pool area, pond surroundings, and walking areas

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in landscaping, gardening, or estate maintenance preferred
• Knowledge of organic gardening practices and sustainable land management is a plus
• Interest or experience in beekeeping, composting, or greenhouse growing is highly desirable
• Ability to operate landscaping equipment safely and effectively
• Strong work ethic, reliability, attention to detail, and a passion for gardening
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Physically capable of performing outdoor labor in varying weather conditions

Compensation:

Competitive Pay based on experience and pay history. The ideal candidate may be eligible for compensation above the stated pay range. Additional details to be discussed during the interview process.
