Hospitality Associate / Housekeeper

Job Summary:

The Hospitality Associate / Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and welcoming environment for retreatants, clergy, staff, and visitors at a Catholic retreat camp. Through daily cleaning, room preparation, and attention to detail, this role supports the ministry of hospitality and helps create a peaceful, prayerful atmosphere for all guests.

Job Responsibilities:

Housekeeping & Daily Cleaning Clean and prepare guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas according to established standards Change linens, make beds, and restock towels and toiletries Clean chapels, meeting rooms, offices, dining areas, and restrooms as assigned Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces regularly Retreat & Guest Support Prepare rooms and facilities before retreats and assist with turnover between groups Monitor cleanliness and supply levels throughout retreats Respond courteously to guest needs or requests related to housekeeping Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly Supplies & Equipment Properly use and care for cleaning equipment and supplies Notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished Follow safety guidelines for chemicals and equipment Health, Safety & Mission Support Follow sanitation, health, and safety procedures Support a peaceful, respectful environment consistent with the retreat center's Catholic mission Work cooperatively with hospitality, maintenance, and operations staff

Volunteers Job Specifications:

Required:

Ability to perform cleaning and physical tasks reliably and efficiently Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team Respect for confidentiality and guest privacy

Preferred:

Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience Experience in a retreat center, camp, hotel, or faith-based environment

Personal & Spiritual Qualities:

Warm, respectful, and service-oriented attitude Dependable, punctual, and flexible Respect for and support of Catholic values and mission Licenses Certifications and/or

Registration:

Valid Florida driver's license; must pass background screening, credit check and all diocesan requirements for employees.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30-40 pounds On-site position at a Catholic retreat campus May include weekend or seasonal hours based on retreat schedules About the
