GOLF SHOP ASSISTANT

Vestavia Country Club is looking for a Golf Shop Assistant that will work alongside the Professional staff and Merchandise Manager to provide fast, friendly service to our members and guests. Candidates must be a highly motivated, hardworking, and a team player with a "servant's heart." Qualified applicants must be service oriented, possess exceptional communication skills and attention to detail, energy and self-confidence, and a display a genuine attitude towards people. The Golf Shop Assistant's duties will include (but not limited to): Spreading hospitality and goodwill to VCC members and their guests. Schedule starting times accurately. Properly execute all relevant register functions. Answering incoming phone calls and greeting members as they enter the Golf Shop. Respond appropriately and in a timely manner to member emails and requests. Provide a consistent, professional experience behind the counter and around the Club. Performing Golf Shop opening/closing procedures when assigned. Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the merchandise. Assisting with the display and promotion of Golf Shop merchandise. Always maintaining a clean and presentable Golf Shop. Assisting in the organization of daily golf groups. Assisting the Merchandise Manager with designated tasks/projects. Assisting the Professional staff with assigned tasks, projects, and Club events. Assuring the policies and procedures of the Golf Shop are enforced. Providing a positive and professional working atmosphere that encourages excellence. Work the Golf Shop floor to best help members and their guest(s) with any merchandise purchases. The Golf Shop Assistant's key characteristics are: Positively representing Vestavia Country Club in all interactions. Capability to communicate effectively with co-workers and all departments of the Club. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact will all members and guests. Ability to recognize names, multi-task, and handle oneself in a high-paced environment. Knowledge of the industry and interest in promoting the game of golf. Qualifications Available to work weekends and holidays Experience in the sport of golf (preferred but not required) Experience in retail sales and cash handling Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, as well as proper phone etiquette, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. Interact professionally with other employees, members and guests. Social media saavy; extremely helpful
