Hourly/ Seasonal Position Summary The Golf Coordinator is responsible for the daily operation of the ORPS golf facilities, ensuring an exceptional experience for owners and their guests while maintaining the highest standards of customer service, course operations, and tournament management. This position works closely with the Golf Committee to coordinate leagues, tournaments, special events, and golf programming throughout the season. The Golf Coordinator also collaborates with the General Manager and landscape contractor to monitor course conditions and help maintain the overall playability and quality of both golf courses. The Golf Coordinator is responsible for managing the monthly golf budget, overseeing golf staff and volunteers, ensuring compliance with Resort Rules & Regulations, and fostering a welcoming environment that promotes sportsmanship and owner satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Open and/or close the golf course following established operating procedures. Welcome owners and their guests while providing outstanding customer service. Manage daily tee sheet operations, reservations, player check-in, and owner/guest verification. Collect green fees and process sales of golf merchandise, balls, tees, and related items. Ensure players begin at their assigned tee times. Assist golfers with questions, lost equipment, pace of play, and general course assistance. Enforce Golf Course Rules & Regulations and dress code in a professional, respectful, and positive manner. Work closely with the Golf Committee to organize, coordinate, and execute tournaments, leagues, special events, and seasonal golf programming. Coordinate tournament logistics including registration, scoring, pairings, handicaps, prize distribution, and event setup. Collaborate with the General Manager and landscape contractor to monitor golf course conditions and provide recommendations that improve course playability and owner experience. Maintain golf supplies, equipment, scorecards, signage, and operational inventory. Perform daily cash handling procedures, reconcile transactions, and prepare deposits in accordance with Association policies. Assist with the preparation, monitoring, and management of the monthly golf operating budget while maintaining cost controls. Prepare reports, maintain accurate operational records, and provide recommendations to improve golf operations. Supervise Golf Starters, Marshals, and volunteers while promoting excellent customer service and consistent operational standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional golf operation. Perform other duties as assigned. Leadership & Administrative Responsibilities Develop seasonal golf programming in partnership with the Golf Committee. Analyze participation trends and recommend improvements to increase owner engagement and golf revenue. Schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate Golf Starters, Marshals, and volunteers. Partner with the Lifestyle Director to develop new golf initiatives and special events. Attend Golf Committee meetings and provide operational updates and recommendations. Coordinate with Maintenance and the landscape contractor regarding course improvements, safety concerns, and daily playability conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum three (3) years of golf operations, golf course management, golf retail, tournament administration, or related golf industry experience preferred. Prior experience as a Golf Starter, Marshal, Golf Shop Attendant, Assistant Golf Professional, or Golf Coordinator preferred. PGA Professional Golf Management Program completion, PGA Associate status, or United States Golf Teachers Federation certification is a plus. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of golf operations, golf etiquette, handicap systems, tournament administration, and pace-of-play management. Ability to quickly learn, interpret, and consistently enforce Resort and Golf Course Rules & Regulations. Strong leadership, organizational, customer service, and communication skills. Ability to effectively coordinate multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with golf management software, tee sheet scheduling, tournament software, and point-of-sale systems. Ability to build positive relationships with owners, volunteers, committees, staff, and vendors. Demonstrated financial responsibility with experience monitoring budgets, controlling expenses, and maintaining accurate records. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments. Required Technical / Other Skills / Licenses Valid California Driver's License. Proficiency in MS Office, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred Experience with ForeTees and golf tournament network or similar programs preferred Physical Demands Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to regularly navigate both the 18-hole and 9-hole walking courses. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, wind, and occasional cold temperatures.
