The Darien YMCA is looking for a Gymnastics Department Coordinator to join our team and help keep our gymnastics programs running smoothly. Working closely with the Gymnastics Director, you'll play an important role in supporting recreational gymnastics, competitive team programs, and gymnastics camps . This is a dynamic administrative role where you'll be at the center of communication and coordination, helping athletes and families navigate programs, keeping schedules and records organized, supporting competitions and events, and making sure coaches and staff have the information they need. What You'll Do You'll help the Gymnastics Director manage the day-to-day administrative needs of the department, including: Supporting the daily operation and administration of recreational gymnastics, competitive team, and camp programs. Assisting with registration, class placements, scheduling, communications, and overall program organization. Maintaining accurate class rosters, attendance records, and participant information. Coordinating program updates, schedules, important dates, and other communications with participants and families. Serving as a knowledgeable and responsive resource for athletes, families, coaches, and staff. Helping identify and resolve administrative issues so programs stay on track. Support the Recreational Program Help create a smooth experience for families from registration through participation by: Maintaining class rosters and attendance records. Assisting with class placements and program administration. Coordinating schedules and communicating program information and updates. Responding to questions and helping families navigate the gymnastics program. Keep the Competitive Team Moving Competitive gymnastics comes with a lot of details and deadlines. You'll help make sure they're handled accurately and on time by: Coordinating meet registrations, competition entries, and roster submissions for YMCA and USA Gymnastics competitions. Tracking athlete availability, competition schedules, deadlines, and other important meet information. Communicating competition details and updates to athletes and families. Managing team apparel sizing, ordering, and distribution. Processing team-related payments, registrations, purchase orders, and invoices through approved systems. Assisting with home meets, team events, and coordination with coaches and parent organizations. Help Make Camps & Events Successful Assist with planning and organizing gymnastics camps. Coordinate camp schedules, theme weeks, activities, and special events with the Gymnastics Director. Communicate camp information and updates to families. Help ensure every camper experiences a safe, positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment. The Physical Side of the Job This is a combination of office and active program-support work. The position requires frequent computer use, sitting, typing, reaching, and moving throughout the work environment. The role also requires adequate hearing and vision to communicate effectively and perform administrative and program-support responsibilities. Work environment noise ranges from mild to moderate.
