Overview Entry-Level Assistant Golf Professional will play an integral role in delivering an exceptional golf experience for members and guests. This entry-level position is designed for an individual seeking a career in the golf industry and provides a structured pathway for professional growth within all aspects of golf operations. During the first year, the primary focus will be overseeing and managing the Golf Services operation, including outside operations, member services, caddies, bag room and driving range, as well as daily golf experience execution. As the professional develops within the role, responsibilities will expand to include tournament operations, merchandising, and other golf shop management functions. The ideal candidate is an energetic, service-oriented professional who is eager to learn all aspects of private club golf operations. This position offers hands-on experience and mentorship in golf services, tournament operations, merchandising, and club management, making it an excellent opportunity for an aspiring PGA Professional seeking career advancement within the golf business. Experience Required PGA Associate status or desire to pursue PGA Membership strongly preferred. Passion for the game of golf and a commitment to building a career in the golf industry. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Positive attitude with a team-oriented mindset. Ability to lead and motivate staff while maintaining high service standards. Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during the golf season. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Essential Responsibilities Golf Services Operations (Primary Focus - Year One) Supervise and lead the daily Golf Services team. Ensure exceptional member and guest service from arrival through departure. Coordinate bag drop, cart staging, practice facility operations, and club storage services. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout all golf operation areas. Train, schedule, and motivate Golf Services staff. Assist with pace of play management and on-course player support. Communicate effectively with golf shop staff and golf course maintenance personnel to ensure seamless daily operations. Monitor and maintain golf cart fleet and practice facility inventory. Professional Development Responsibilities Assist with golf shop operations, including tee sheet management, member services, and point-of-sale transactions. Provide instruction and player development support when opportunities arise. Participate in member events, club tournaments, and golf programs. Support the implementation of club policies and service standards. Future Growth Responsibilities As the successful candidate progresses through the position, responsibilities will expand to include: Tournament administration and event operations. Tournament software management and scoring. Merchandise buying, receiving, inventory control, and display presentation. Vendor relations and special-order management.
