Job Description
Overview Club Overview - Nestled in Jacksonville, Florida, San Jose Country Club is a Private, Member-Owned Country Club. The Course Built on approximately 100 acres of land, our 18-hole golf course plays at 7,043 yards from the professional tees. With five varying tees, this par-72 course offers challenges and rewards for golfers of all skill levels. In 2020, San Jose Country Club worked with golf course architect Dan Schlegel to restore parts of the course back to the original 1925 Donald Ross design. Our modern practice facility includes a putting green, a practice range, and a short-game area. The course sees approximately 30,000 rounds a year. An extremely friendly group of Members and a FUN place to work, it's never dull! Position Overview- San Jose Country Club is searching for its next 1st Assistant Golf Professional to join the esteemed golf staff. This 1st Assistant will work closely with an award-winning golf professional staff and a North Florida PGA Hall of Fame Member as Director of Golf. The golf professional staff have all the opportunities available to them to hone their skills and prepare them to advance in their careers. Experience Required Registered PGA Associate working towards Class A or Class A member preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service. Knowledge of event management, merchandising, golf equipment, rules, and etiquette. Eager to build their career.
Essential Responsibilities Job Tasks/Duties:
The team member's job duties include, but are not limited to: Knowledge and ability to order, display, and manage the budgetary aspects of the merchandise operation. Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times Service and member focused attitude Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills Experienced computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament, database & POS Proficiency in the operation of tournament software (Golf Genius preferred.) Work with and assist in coordinating golf activities with other departments Assist in tournament planning, promotion, preparation, scoring, announcements, billing, and follow-up Assist with all opening / closing procedures and POS operation Self-motivated with desire to promote and market golf shop merchandise Play with Members of all levels on a regular basis.
