Overview Golf Shop Attendant/Assistant Golf Professional Position Summary The Country Club of Orlando is seeking an energetic, service-driven Golf Shop Attendant/Assistant Golf Professional to join our golf operations team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional in a historic private club environment while gaining meaningful experience in all aspects of a premier golf operation. The successful candidate will play an integral role in delivering exceptional member experience while contributing to tournament operations, merchandising, player development, and the daily management of golf operations. This position is ideal for a motivated golf professional seeking long-term growth within the PGA or LPGA pathways and exposure to a high-level private club environment. Experience Required Qualifications Previous experience in a private club or high-volume golf operation preferred. Prior experience as an Assistant Golf Professional strongly preferred. Enrollment in, or intention to enroll in, the PGA Associate Program or LPGA Professionals Program preferred. Working knowledge of Golf Genius, GHIN, and golf shop point-of-sale systems preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated playing ability and enthusiasm for member engagement through golf activities and events. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred Education & Experience PGA or LPGA Membership or Associate status preferred but not required. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Position requires both indoor and outdoor work in a year-round golf environment. Ability to work extended periods outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and humidity. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate golf carts and golf operation equipment. Expected Schedule Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position Approximately 40-45 hours per week, including weekends, holidays, tournament days, and occasional evening events. Essential Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities Member Experience & Daily Operations Deliver exceptional service standards and create memorable experiences for members and guests throughout the golf operation. Maintain a visible and professional presence in the golf shop, practice facilities, first tee, and golf course. Manage tee sheet activity, starting time reservations, and member communications both in person and via telephone. Assist with daily opening and closing procedures, point-of-sale transactions, and reconciliation of golf operations revenue. Ensure the golf shop and surrounding operational areas consistently meet the club's presentation standards. Tournament & Event Administration Coordinate and administer weekly men's competitive games utilizing Golf Genius Assist in planning, execution, scoring, and results communication for club tournaments and outside events. Support the setup and operation of member events, invitational tournaments, and Monday outings. Merchandising & Inventory Assist with merchandising initiatives, retail displays, inventory management, receiving procedures, and monthly inventory counts. Leadership & Professional Development Collaborate with the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional on all facets of golf operations. Pursue continued professional development through the PGA or LPGA education pathways. Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
