Job Description
The Hurley Family Branch of the Hockomock Area YMCA is hiring a Gymnastics & Dance Director to provide quality gymnastics programming experiences to youth gymnasts and dancers. The Director will oversee and be accountable for program growth, staffing, and instructor management. They will be responsible for the overall progression and development of youth participants in recreational classes, member benefit activities such as open gym time and birthday parties, and Gymnastics Summer Camp. The Director manages schedules, provides regular and effective communication with staff, participants, and caretakers, delivers high-quality coaching and skill development, supports the transition of non-competitive program participants to Team level, and onboards and trains staff. Essential Functions Ensures the positive and consistent execution of instructional, wellness, and relationship goals of our gymnastic and dance programming in accordance with strategic and operating plans Leads the planning and implementation of Gymnastics and Dance events and activities Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events, ensuring proper cleanliness, maintenance, and security Compiles program statistics Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in gymnastics programs, and implements strategies to improve overall success of programming Communicates effectively and builds positive relationships with YMCA members, program participants, and families through daily interactions, responding to all member and community inquiries and issues in a timely manner Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs staff and volunteers as needed Reviews and evaluates staff performance Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals Understands and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information and schedules, organizing and scheduling program registrations as needed Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations Prior experience coaching and/or instructing gymnasts Progressive experience managing staff Optimistic team-oriented attitude Ability to connect with youth and staff of all ages by inspiring and motivating them to achieve success Ability to work a flexible schedule, as needed Ability to perform the physical skills necessary for participation in leading gymnastics programs Ability to safely spot gymnastics skills through level 10 CPR and First Aid Certifications within 30 days of hire
