Job Description

Position Summary American International College is seeking a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Men's Ice Hockey program. This position provides a motivated individual the opportunity to gain hands-on coaching experience at the collegiate level while pursuing a graduate degree at AIC. The Graduate Assistant will work closely with the Head Coach to support all aspects of program operations, including on-ice instruction, recruiting, video/scouting, and administrative duties, while upholding the College's commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes. Key Responsibilities Assist the Head Coach with practice planning, on-ice instruction, and game-day operations Support recruiting efforts, including prospect identification, correspondence, campus visit coordination, and database management Break down and edit game/practice video for scouting reports and player development Assist with team travel logistics, equipment coordination, and facility scheduling Monitor and support student-athlete academic progress in coordination with the athletics academic support staff Help organize team events, community service initiatives, and alumni engagement activities Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletics Director Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Acceptance into, or eligibility for, an AIC graduate program Playing and/or coaching experience in ice hockey at the collegiate or elite junior level Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Valid driver's license Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required by the competition schedule Preferred Qualifications Prior coaching experience at the collegiate, junior, or elite amateur level Familiarity with video software (e.g., Hudl/Spiideo) and recruiting databases Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations Compensation This is a Graduate Assistant position. Compensation includes a stipend and tuition remission toward an approved AIC graduate program, consistent with institutional GA award guidelines.
