Job Description
Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Middle School Wrestling Coach for the upcoming seasonal wrestling program. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for the sport, a commitment to student-athlete development, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive team environment. This position offers an opportunity to mentor young athletes, develop their skills, and promote sportsmanship and teamwork. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive wrestling program that aligns with the school's athletic goals and objectives.
- Conduct daily practices, focusing on skill development, technique, and conditioning.
- Prepare the team for competitions, including organizing match schedules and travel arrangements.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team progress and individual performance.
- Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and competitions.
- Provide guidance and support to athletes in their personal and academic development.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote the overall athletic program at Charlotte Middle School.
- Attend all required meetings and training sessions related to the wrestling program and coaching. Requirements
- Previous experience coaching wrestling at the middle school level or higher is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate student-athletes.
- Ability to create a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season.
- A commitment to the academic success and personal growth of student-athletes.
- Must pass a background check and adhere to all school district policies and procedures.
