Job Description

Overview Providence Country Club is a a McConnell Golf property located in South Charlotte. With an active membership and a recently rennovated course by Kris Spence, our flourishing Club is near a waiting list to join. Our Professional staff is looking to add a motivated member to our team. For more information on Providence Country Club or McConnell Golf, please visit www.mcconnellgolf.com Our Golf Operation places a strict emphasis on work/life balance. Providence Country Club Golf Professionals enjoy flexibility with scheduling as we place a high importance on family time outside of work. Experience Required We are looking for a career minded individual with serious intent to work and grow within the golf business. Applicants must have some customer service experience. PGA Membership is not required, but is a plus. Essential Responsibilities The scope of the below mentioned responsibilities only outline a fraction of the job duties required and are not limited to: Promotes pure golf for the true golfer as an ambassador of Providence Country Club, to the membership, golf staff, and community Provides leadership and communicates club's vision to staff and members alike, supporting the club's philosophy and mission Represents Providence Country Club, its membership, McConnell Golf, and the management team in an utmost professional manner, internally and externally and at professional events Develops systems to measure and monitor effectiveness of staff, retail management programs, proper inventory control practices, service levels, and golf related events Oversees the implementation of the policies and procedures, maintaining excellent service to continuously achieve five star member and guest satisfaction As a team member, he interacts, communicates and supports other department managers and associates Develops, implements and monitors the golf - PR market via social media, e-commerce and printing tools as it relates to merchandise, club events, lessons, clinics etc. Positions the golf shop operation at such a level that it will further allow him to simultaneously focus on current and future management team efforts to plan and set strategic initiatives and to expand the Club as provided by ownership Assists the Director of Golf and corporate merchandiser in executing the buying plan in a fiscally responsible manner Incorporates safe work practices in job performance Provide golf instruction and clinics for all levels of golfers Recruits, hires, trains and provides leadership to an exceptional golf operations team to deliver exceptional customer service levels corresponding to the Club's vision and mission statement in place Manages all sweeps, store credit, and gift certificate information and postings in a timely manner Supervise the Assistant Golf Professionals with all member and outside tournaments and monthly inventory counts Maintains an accurate filing system for tournament operations, special orders, club repair and schedules Provides a range of staff and operational support to job related activities such as golf tournaments, pace of play, merchandising and inventory Assists members, prospective members, and guests including but not limited to tee time reservations, checking in members and their guests, club information, golf rates, and club policies
Benefits Benefits:
Vacation :
The Assistant Golf Professional shall be entitled to vacation per the employee handbook. Scheduling such vacation shall be with the concurrence of the Director of Golf. Any vacation not taken in any calendar year after accrual will not accrue to any following year, and shall be considered forfeited unless other arrangements with the Director of Golf are made in writing.
Insurance :
The Assistant Golf Professional is entitled to Major Medical and Comprehensive Health and Life Insurance as defined in the Employee Handbook.
PGA Dues :
The Assistant Golf Professional will have his annual member dues paid in full submitting his request to the Director of Golf.
Clinics and Lessons :
The Assistant Golf Professional is entitled to receive all monies charged to members and/or members and their dependents and/or their guests for conducted clinics and lessons. Upon properly recording clinic and lesson fees charged to the members' accounts, the Club will reimburse the Golf Professional on the 10th day of each month following the month in which said charges occurred.
Meals :
The Club shall provide meals for the Assistant Golf Professional without any charges, in the customary manner, on the Club premises, and for the convenience of the Club.
Membership Privileges :
The Assistant Golf Professional and his immediate family members shall have full membership privileges during term of employment . Membership privileges are governed by the Board of Directors and are subject to the Membership Plan, Rules and Regulations.
Educational Allowance :
The Club shall reimburse the Assistant Golf Professional for continuing education in affiliation with the PGA of up to $500 (Five hundred dollars)
Tournament Expenses :
Providence Country Club will pay for entry into the Carolinas Pro-Assistant Championship. Other tournaments can be discussed with the Director of Golf for approval.
Uniforms :
The Assistant Golf Professional is entitled to an annual clothing allowance that is negotiated from time to time and said shall be purchased via an existent vendor.
