Athletics Reports to: Vice President of Athletics & Athletic Operations Position Summary The Academic Advisor for Athletics provides comprehensive academic support and guidance to student-athletes to promote academic success, retention, eligibility, and graduation. Monitors academic progress, assists with course selection and degree planning, coordinates tutoring and academic support services, and serves as a liaison between student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and campus departments. Ensures compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA academic requirements while fostering personal growth, accountability, and achievement among student-athletes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The results you will deliver each day that matter most! Advise and support student-athletes in academic planning, degree progression, and course selection. Monitor academic eligibility requirements in accordance with NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations. Conduct regular academic progress reviews and maintain accurate academic records for student-athletes. Develop individualized academic success plans for at-risk student athletes. Coordinate tutoring, mentoring, study hall, and academic support services. Serve as a liaison between student-athletes, coaches, faculty, registrar, financial aid, etc. Collaborate with the Compliance Office to ensure student-athlete eligibility certifications are accurate and timely. Other duties as assigned. Education/ Experience What you will need to be successful! Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred Bachelor's Degree in one of the following areas: Higher Education Administration, Sports Management, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership & Counseling. Academic advising experience in high education & audits Academic advising experience in higher education Experience working with student athletes Knowledge of NCAA, Conference, and institutional academic eligibility requirements.
