One Love Tennis is a Wilmington, NC-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through the sport of tennis combined with academic enrichment, mentorship, and character development. Operating out of the historic home of Dr. Hubert Eaton at 1406 Orange Street, One Love serves underrepresented young people in the greater Wilmington community with a vision of creating lifelong athletes, scholars, and leaders.POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director Tennis will lead, grow, and inspire the tennis programming across multiple formats — from current after-school partnerships with local youth organizations to a year-round academy for dedicated young athletes. The Director of Tennis will be a skilled coach and relationship-builder who loves kids and believes in the power of sport to change lives.QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated tennis coaching experience required; tennis coaching certification preferred Minimum 3 years of experience coaching youth tennis Strong understanding of child development and the ability to engage youth of varying ages, skill levels, and backgrounds Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working with diverse communities Organized and self-directed Ability to work collaboratively with the Board and staff (e.g. Operations Manager & Director of Enrichment) Passion for the mission of One Love Tennis and belief in the transformative power of sport Commitment to youth mentorship, education, and character developmentKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
After-School Program Partnership Lead and deliver tennis instruction for existing after-school partnerships Coordinate scheduling, court reservations, equipment, and logistics for all partnerships Build and maintain strong relationships with partner organization staff and families Coordinate volunteers to lead / support after-school tennis sessions Junior Academy Development Design and launch the One Love Tennis Junior Academy — a structured, multi-level program for youth committed to developing their game Develop age-appropriate tennis curricula Recruit, evaluate, and place student-athletes into appropriate training cohorts Coordinate with USTA and local tennis associations to facilitate competitive play Summer Camp Develop the concept and operational plan for a One Love Tennis Summer Camp Coordinate with the Enrichment Director and Operations Manager on logistics, registration, and marketing Recruit and manage camp counselors and volunteer coaches as needed Execute camp programming with an emphasis on fun, skill development, and community Fall Expansion Planning Collaborate with Board and Operations Manager and Director of Enrichment to ensure smooth operations and alignment with One Love mission Design a robust fall tennis program offering Maintain accurate books and records and assist in budget preparation Identify and pursue additional court access, partnerships, and resources to scale programming Applicants must submit a cover letter explaining why they are a good fit for this role, resume and answers to all application questions.Pay:
