Job Description

Job Overview Exclusive private club in Manhattan is seeking an energetic and dedicated Tennis Professional to join our vibrant team. This role offers approximately 35 hours per week, providing an exciting opportunity to inspire members and guests through expert tennis instruction, engaging coaching sessions, and fostering a welcoming community atmosphere. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for tennis combined with a strong background in sports coaching, teaching, and working with diverse age groups. Responsibilities Deliver professional tennis instruction to members and guests of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players Develop customized lesson plans that promote skill development, sportsmanship, and enjoyment of the game Organize and supervise group clinics, junior programs, and special tennis events to encourage participation Provide guidance on proper technique, rules, and safety procedures during lessons and court activities Foster a positive environment that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth Assist with court maintenance, scheduling, and ensuring the safety of all players on the facility Engage with members to promote club programs related to sports coaching, physical education, and wellness initiatives Requirements Minimum of 3-5 years of tennis coaching experience required. Strong playing background preferred; collegiate tennis experience is highly desirable. Ability to teach players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced competitors. Experience leading private lessons, group clinics, junior development programs, and adult classes. Knowledge of modern teaching techniques, player development, and match strategy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service-oriented approach. Ability to engage and motivate members while creating a positive learning environment. Flexible schedule, including availability on evenings, weekends, and during club events. Must be available to work weekends as required by programming and member demand. Reliable, professional, punctual, and highly organized. Comfortable working with a diverse membership base and coaching players from various backgrounds. Ability to assist with tennis events, tournaments, social programming, and club activities. Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate with fellow professionals and club management. CPR/AED certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Passion for growing the game of tennis and delivering an exceptional member experience.
Pay:
$40.00 - $70.00 per hour
