Job Description

A Premier Tennis club in the Main Line of Philly is looking for a qualified tennis professional to walk in to a very busy schedule of lessons and clinics. Must have a great personality and mut be willing to grow with a great organization. Performs responsible professional work planning, organizing, and scheduling a variety of specialized tennis programs and activities. Provide quality tennis instruction and services. The Head Tennis Professional Typical Tasks:
Teach programs and lessons as assigned by supervisor; Assist with distribution and collection of program evaluation forms; Manage day to day operations of assigned tennis programs (i.e. Academy, Ladders, Leagues, etc.); Develop private lesson clientele; Develop short and long term goals with Academy students and review on a regular basis; Ensure patrons know what the next step is in their tennis progression; Promote all programs and offerings to patrons; Plan and implement local tournaments and events as assigned by supervisor; Organize, plan and implement adult socials and other special events. Performs other job-related tasks as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of tennis skills, rules and strategies and some knowledge of other sports; knowledge of modern principles and practices of recreation and physical education; knowledge of business administration and practices in planning and researching programs, clinics and tournaments; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community, and the public; ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; ability to prepare and maintain records; ability to resolve disputes with fairness and impartially.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
Position requires USPTA or USPTR certification or ability to obtain such certification within the first year of employment. Any combination of work and playing experience equivalent to two years of teaching experience is required. Requires drug testing and background check (which may include criminal check, education verification and credit history review) prior to employment.
Pay:
$40.00 - $48.00 per hour
