Overview Colonial Country Club is seeking a friendly, dependable, and service-oriented Golf Shop Assistant to join our Golf Operations team. This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming experience for members and guests while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Golf Shop and golf facilities. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong communication and organizational skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced club environment. Knowledge of golf is helpful but not required for a candidate who is eager to learn. Experience Required Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, or golf-related experience preferred but not required. Friendly, professional, and service-oriented demeanor. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide excellent service to members and guests. Basic computer skills and ability to learn point-of-sale and tee sheet systems. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle transactions accurately. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Dependable and punctual with a positive attitude. Basic knowledge of golf and golf terminology is preferred. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, and perform routine tasks associated with Golf Shop operations. Ability to lift and carry merchandise, golf equipment, and other items weighing up to approximately 30 pounds. Essential Responsibilities Greet members and guests in a friendly, professional manner and provide exceptional customer service. Assist with daily Golf Shop operations, including answering phones, responding to member questions, and assisting with tee time inquiries. Check in golfers and process Golf Shop transactions accurately through the point-of-sale system. Assist members and guests with merchandise purchases and general questions regarding golf operations. Maintain an organized, clean, and professional Golf Shop environment. Assist with receiving, displaying, organizing, and maintaining Golf Shop merchandise. Support the Golf Professional staff with tournaments, outings, leagues, and other golf events. Communicate effectively with outside operations and other club departments to ensure a seamless member and guest experience. Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned. Maintain knowledge of daily golf activities, club events, course conditions, and applicable policies. Help ensure club policies and golf course procedures are communicated and followed in a courteous and professional manner. Perform other duties as assigned by the Golf Professional staff.
