Job Description

The Opportunity Tumwater Valley Golf Club is currently seeking team oriented people with a passion for providing exceptional customer services, while enhancing our fun and welcoming atmosphere. Positions include our Guest Services and Outside Services needs. The Guest Services role requires leadership skills in operating the pro shop by answering phones, checking players in, selling merchandise and tee times, making reservations and much more! Outside Services focuses on maintaining a clean presentation at all times by staging fully stocked golf carts, picking the driving range and practice areas, operating light maintenance power tools, garbage/clean up, set-up for tournaments and daily play. Guest Services staff will assist with the daily golf operations including managing and tracking play, protecting and controlling assets, and providing other services to ensure an exceptional golf experience for clientele. Work schedule consists of 5-40 hours per week. Mostly afternoons, evenings, weekends & holidays. Early mornings may be required for some Guest Services positions. Seasonal positions generally work from early spring through the following January. Rate of pay depends on qualifications. The Course At Tumwater Valley Golf Club, customers can expect an unparalleled golfing experience. Our course is a pleasure for golfers of any skill level to play. Golfers can test their accuracy with our fairways, water hazards and sand traps; we have everything a golfer needs to challenge and improve their game. Embedded in the gorgeous landscape of Tumwater Valley, our course features 20 holes of championship-caliber golf, multiple tee boxes, an ample practice area and a 10-acre driving range. Our pro-shop features first-class equipment, apparel and rentals.

Tumwater Valley Golf Club is owned by the City of Tumwater and operated by the Parks and Recreation Department Performs a variety of tasks involving daily operations of the golf course in the golf shop and driving range, providing excellent customer service, assisting golf course manager, ensuring guest check-in and fee collection, assisting with merchandise and inventory, displays, control, promotion and sales of merchandise keeping current and informed of promotions and all club activities and services assisting with tournaments collects and washes golf balls for the driving range, cleans and services golf carts, performs miscellaneous, minor maintenance and labor tasks on the golf course under all weather conditions, and operates machinery as needed to perform daily tasks. Basic understanding of the game of golf. Basic knowledge of customer service, sales, and/or retail Basic use and maintenance of tools and power equipment used in grounds maintenance including mowers, utility vehicles, weed eaters, blowers and other small power tools. Basic health and safety practices. Must be at least 16 years of age with a valid Washington State Driver's License Must be able to successfully pass a background check. Prior experience in retail, sales, and/or customer service in a golf course setting is preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function related to their assignment satisfactorily. Golf privileges may be included with employment.
