(Phoenix, AZ) About Us Paper Bag Sandwich Co. is a scratch-made sandwich shop in Phoenix where the bread isn't an afterthought — it's the foundation. We bake our own signature bread in-house every day, and we're looking for someone who wants to own that process. The Role As our Artisan Baker, you're the first one in the building. You'll be responsible for baking our signature bread fresh every morning and helping set the shop up for a successful day. This is an early morning role for someone who takes pride in their craft and doesn't mind getting started while the rest of Phoenix is still asleep. What You'll Do Bake our signature bread to spec every morning — consistently and on time Monitor dough, proofing, and bake times to ensure quality with every batch Assist with opening duties to help prepare the shop for service Keep the baking area clean, organized, and properly stocked Communicate any inventory or equipment needs to the management team Shifts 3:00 AM - 11:00 AM or 5:00 AM - 12:00 PM depending on scheduling needs Early morning availability is a must What We're Looking For A passion for baking and an appreciation for doing things from scratch Experience baking bread is a plus — but we're open to training the right person Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in the early hours Reliable and consistent — this role sets the tone for the entire day Compensation Competitive hourly rate Tips included
