We're immediately hiring associates for our Handroll Factory! Those with experience in customer-facing positions and cooking experience are encouraged to apply! ESSENTIAL DUTIES
in the Kitchen Department (Line Cook/ Deli Clerk) (responsibilities include, but are not limited to) Able to take customer orders and process payment Packaging our food products Cook hot meals Fish preparation Follow recipes and must accurately measure ingredients Maintains good communication with store management, associates and suppliers/vendors Maintaining cleanliness of the store/ store upkeep Ensuring proper presentation of our dishes Ensures customers are satisfied and delighted to enjoy our food Checks product temperature to ensure freshness and quality Ability to maintain a knife grip in order to cut items to specification Unloading deli Items upon vendor deliveries Checks product temperature to ensure freshness and quality Able to check customer IDs and serve customers alcohol Operating pallet jack, baler, compactor and scrub machine Must clean and sanitize work areas Work Environment may be in extreme temperature
Customer Service:
Providing premier customer service, including greeting them and responding to questions Engaging in suggestive selling and other sales techniques Meets or exceeds Department's sales goals assigned through the efficient execution of Company policies and procedures Maintains cleanliness of work area, storage area, and selling floor Ensures a safe and clean work environment
Cross Training:
Store Support Associates exemplify teamwork and are open to and willing to be trained and step in when needed in all departments and similar skilled areas for filling and development opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred Must be 18 or older to use sharp knives, use ladders, scaffolds or their substitutes, substitutes above 6 feet in height, and to operate or assist in operating power-driven machinery or equipment. Must be able to use job related equipment such as slicer, scale, saw, knife and wrapper No experience required, but 1-2 years of work experience in a similar work environment is preferred Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Deli Clerk experience is preferred Must be able to complete ABC and Food Handler Certifications upon hire Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without aid Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to equipment and work aides necessary to perform job duties. Hands are in frequent contact with water, vegetables, deli, and sushi meat while performing job duties.
REQUIREMENTS
Comfortable with working in a kitchen environment Must be able to follow recipes and accurately measure ingredients Must be able to operate related equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks and hand trucks Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service Able to read, write, and do simple math problems Able to interpret, understand and follow instructions Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from the general public and management Ability to interact with all levels of management Has or willing to obtain a CA Food Handler's Certificate Marukai is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E Verify.
