Cake Decorator - Bakery Department Attributes / Qualities for an

Ideal Candidate:

• Must be 18 years of age or older with high school graduate certificate or equivalent.
• Some commercial baking experience (2 years+) is desirable, but not required.
• Strong work ethic, initiative, ability to work independently, with good attendance.
• Able to deliver friendly, courteous and prompt customer service.
• Strong communication skills including verbal and written.
• Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about baked goods and current decorating trends.
• Work well with other team members to create a productive, positive and fun environment.
• Availability for weekend and holidays shifts is required.

Basic Duties:

• Providing excellent customer service, including greeting customers and answering questions.
• Icing, decorating, packaging, labeling and pricing products for display.
• Filling customer special orders, including decorated cakes, cupcakes, cookies, etc.
• Operating Bakery department equipment such as proofers, ovens, and mixers.
• Setting attractive and creative display in sales cases.
• Maintain backroom inventory so it is orderly, properly stored and secured.
• Maintain a clean work environment through a regimented cleaning protocol.
• Receive and stock deliveries. Confirm quantities and invoice pricing against order logs.
• Work safely, have fun, and give the customer your best.

Physical Requirements:

Includes but not limited to constant standing, frequent walking, bending and twisting; occasional squatting, climbing and kneeling; frequent precise hand manipulation and power grasping; frequent light to moderate lifting; and occasional heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds unassisted.
