Job Description

WHO WE ARE
Little France is a French artisan bakery ranked among the top bakeries in the United States, built by the Touya family, master pastry chefs with decades behind the bench. We are growing fast, and we are opening a seat on our Newport Beach team. This is not a job at just any bakery. If you join us now, you are joining a family and a team at the start of something we are scaling nationally. We take care of our people the way they take care of their craft, and a real career can be built here. You would be working directly alongside our founding master pastry chefs, Jean-Marc and Lionel, two of the best in the business.
THE ROLE
You will work at our Newport Beach location as the right hand to our chefs and lead baker. You are here to perform at a high level alongside the team. You are not here to manage the floor, dictate the menu, or run the shop. You bake, you execute, you keep your station immaculate, and you move with urgency. What you will be making, and learning to make to our exact standard: croissants, baguettes, shortbread cookies, frangipane, creams, and cake decoration. Our croissants run 120 to 130 grams, roughly double a standard croissant, and the product has to match the picture every single time. That is the bar we hold. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR 4
to 5 years of real, professional bakery experience, minimum Has worked in a bakery before, not a hobbyist Food handler certificate (required) Can decorate cakes Observes, listens to an instruction one time, and executes it. We tell you once. We should not have to repeat ourselves. Fast and precise, and calm under pressure during the morning rush Punctual without exception. Shifts begin at 4:30 AM. Willing to do all of it: bake, clean your own station, wash dishes, help the front, and work the register when needed Culinary credentials are appreciated and worth listing, but they are not what earns the job. We have hired "certified" people who could not bake. Your actual work is the only test that matters to us.
SCHEDULE AND PAY
Full-time, 5 days per week. Early mornings, with a 4:30 AM start.
Pay:
$24 to $30 per hour.
