In this dynamic role, you will design beautiful, mouth-watering cakes that delight our customers and elevate their special occasions. Your expertise in cake decorating, food preparation, and pastry arts will be essential in creating memorable desserts that showcase both artistry and quality. You will also assist with baking, food handling, packaging, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness. Because of our size, all team members occasionally pitch in with front-of-house duties — from greeting customers to supporting the counter. Duties Our bakery is full buttercream based - expect to decorate cakes and desserts with intricate designs, piping, and other techniques to meet customer specifications and seasonal themes Prepare baked goods, including mixing, baking, and finishing pastries with precision and care Handle food safely by following proper hygiene protocols, sanitation procedures, and food industry regulations Package finished products attractively for retail display or customer pick-up Assist with food production tasks such as measuring ingredients, assembling desserts, and maintaining ingredient freshness Lead and support fellow bakers by delegating tasks, maintaining production flow, and upholding quality standards across the team Work independently to manage baking schedules and priorities with minimal supervision Assist with front-of-house duties as needed, including customer interactions and general counter support Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products, offering recommendations, and ensuring a positive experience Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment in accordance with kitchen standards and safety guidelines Qualifications Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry arts or related culinary fields Strong skills in food handling, baking, and food safety practices Knowledge of kitchen equipment including knives, mixers, ovens, and decorating tools Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision Experience leading or mentoring a team of bakers or kitchen staff Comfort and flexibility assisting with front-of-house duties in a small team environment Previous restaurant or catering experience is highly desirable Excellent attention to detail with an eye for design and presentation Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality Strong communication skills coupled with a friendly customer service approach Join our small but mighty team to bring joy through beautifully crafted cakes while honing your culinary talents!
