Hourly, plus eligible pooled tips About CHOUX Bakery CHOUX is a small, neighborhood French bakery in San Francisco's Lower Haight, known for our artisanal choux pastries, cannelés, financiers, and seasonal treats. We are a small but growing team that cares deeply about quality, hospitality, and creating moments of simple joy for our customers. We are looking for a warm, reliable, and detail-oriented Front of House Associate to join our team and help create a welcoming experience for every guest who visits CHOUX. About the Role As a Front of House Associate, you will be the face of CHOUX. You will welcome customers, explain our pastries, ring up orders, package pastries beautifully, keep the display clean and full, and help maintain a smooth daily flow in the bakery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys customer service, takes pride in presentation, works well in a small team, and is comfortable in a fast-paced food service environment. Responsibilities Welcome customers with warmth, professionalism, and care Explain pastry flavors, box options, ingredients, and seasonal items Ring up sales accurately through the POS system Package pastries neatly and beautifully for customers, gifts, and pre-orders Keep the pastry display clean, organized, and visually appealing Restock packaging, napkins, utensils, and front-of-house supplies Support order pickups, online orders, and delivery platform orders Maintain cleanliness of the customer area, counter, and service station Assist with light cleaning and closing/opening tasks as needed Communicate clearly with the kitchen team about inventory, sold-out items, and customer requests Help create a friendly neighborhood bakery experience for every guest Qualifications Previous fast food, café/coffee, bakery, restaurant experience preferred Friendly, reliable, and comfortable speaking with customers Strong attention to detail and presentation Ability to work efficiently during busy periods Comfortable using a POS system or willing to learn Able to stand for extended periods and perform light cleaning/restocking tasks Team-oriented, proactive, and respectful Interest in pastries, food, hospitality, or small businesses is a plus What We're Looking For We would love to meet someone who is: Warm and genuinely kind with customers Reliable and punctual Organized and attentive to small details Calm and professional under pressure Comfortable working in a small team where everyone helps each other Excited to be part of a growing neighborhood bakery brand Benefits Eligible for pooled tips on worked shifts Employee discount Opportunity to learn about small business operations, customer service, and bakery retail Supportive, hands-on team environment Growth opportunities as CHOUX continues to expand How to Apply Please apply with your resume at and a short note sharing why you are interested in joining CHOUX.
