Beswick's & Co. is a modern all day cafe and bakery freshly preparing delicious luxury all day brunch items, artisan sandwiches/toasties, salads, homemade baked goods, pastries and speciality coffees & beverages.. B & Co. provides wholesome, nourishing & delicious food made with a Florida influence yet rooted and inspired by the sister's / owners British heritage. Who are we looking for? We are looking for a chef / baker who has experience cooking / baking in the hospitality industry and are available to work weekdays and weekends and importantly are available at all times over holiday periods. Hours may change depending on demand and the needs of the business. We are also looking for a candidate who has a flexible skillset and will adapt to helping in the Front of House during busy periods. All training will be provided. Job Overview The role we are currently taking applications for is a Chef / Baker in the back of house . However, your role will be flexible, sharing responsibilities and duties with the other B & Co. employees, working together and multitasking. Therefore you may be required to help in the Front of House during busy periods. You will be responsible for preparing orders and ensuring they are executed to the highest standard both in terms of quality and food hygiene and with the maximum level of efficiency. You will also be responsible for the prep of ingredients to make our Brunch and Lunch menu items and for baking our bakery items. At Beswick's & Co. the flavor and presentation of our dishes and baked goods is what sets us apart from our competition. Therefore, we are looking for an employee with a natural and exceptional creative flair that can recreate our British family recipes. You will be a part of a small team and will be led by the back of house manager to complete the day to day tasks in the back of house. Responsibilities & Duties Weigh ingredients carefully to leave little room for error. Maintain inventory & regularly restock ingredient bins for improved efficiency. Ensure to carry out regular inventory stock checks, stock rotations, safe food handling and receiving procedures. Oversee kitchen operations and work closely with the Back of House manager. Carry out prep lists set out for you by the Back of House manager - for example prep'ing our sandwiches to enable an efficient lunch service and refilling ingredients throughout the shift. Complete food orders. Be capable of performing the duties of all kitchen positions. Keep the kitchen clean & tidy at all times & help with pot washing duties. Prepare the baked goods for the front of house bakery counter. Ensure quality and consistency is executed on all menu items. Follow all state, federal and local food hygiene and safety guidelines and comply with all allergen information. Ensure that the kitchen is immaculately clean to ensure an efficient & safe working environment. Work as a team to complete opening and closing schedule tasks. Complete and sign off all necessary kitchen documentation. Complete all relevant training both initial and on-going. Monitor kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and fire department regulations. Communicate information regarding guest requests, complaints or ideas to management immediately. Follow all company policies as outlined in the company handbook. Demonstrate teamwork and positive communication skills. Run food to customers if the front of house team are busy & always deliver excellent customer service to guests making sure to check in with them. This role includes but is not limited to the above responsibilities and duties, you must be flexible and carry out all necessary tasks for a FOH role as instructed by your FOH manager. Qualifications & Skills Experience working in a hospitality setting; hotel, café or restaurant. Kitchen experience. Valid work authorization & have an excellent command of the English language. High School Diploma. Professional attire, personal hygiene and appearance in keeping with Beswick's & Co. standards. Ability to read and understand English and have basic maths skills. Able to lift and carry heavy bags/boxes and carry short distances. Understand hazards that include but are not limited to cuts, burns, slips, trips and falls. Able to reach overhead, bend, stoop and wipe. Have an eagerness to learn and the ability to learn quickly. Able to be on their feet for long hours of the day. A clear understanding of food safety and hygiene guidelines. Preferably a certified food hygiene and safety accreditation but this can be completed once work commences at Beswick's & Co. Incredible organization skills and detail orientated. Vigilant and active listening skills to ensure that all orders are completed accurately and to guests' strict dietary requirements. A passion for food. Experience in & ability to work well in a stressful and face paced environment. Creative flair and an eye for exceptional food presentation. Flexibility to work longer hours if required and to help with Front of House activities. Job / Shift
Type / Expected Hours Part time Day shift work. Expected 22 - 32 hours weekly but this is dependent on season etc. Availability Available to work weekdays and weekends . But please note that hours/days may be increase/change/reduce during slower days/periods and depending on the needs of the business so we require you to be flexible . Candidate must be available to work during holidays and over Summer (but please note we do close for a period of time over Christmas). We are looking to employee someone long term . Pay From around $17.00 - $23.00 on average an hour, this includes base pay and tips (tips are pooled & shared amongst all employees based on hours worked). Start Date Immediately.
