Florentin Bakery is seeking a reliable, hands-on Bakery Assistant to support daily production and help keep our bakery running smoothly, while maintaining our kosher standards. Working under the Head Baker and alongside the baking team, you'll assist with prep, production, packaging, and cleanliness across our bread and pastry program. This is a great role for someone early in their baking career who is eager to learn, takes pride in clean and organized work, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. No advanced pastry experience required — a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn matter most. Responsibilities Assist bakers with daily production of sourdough, laminated doughs (croissants, viennoiserie), and pastries. Weigh, measure, and scale ingredients accurately according to recipes. Support mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking under the guidance of the Head Baker. Prep, portion, and package finished products for the display case and orders. Stock and organize ingredients, supplies, and finished goods. Keep workstations, equipment, and the bakery clean, organized, and sanitary at all times. Follow all recipes and processes according to Florentin standards and kosher guidelines. Support morning setup and end-of-day cleanup and closing tasks. Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations. Communicate supply and stock needs to the Head Baker or management. Qualifications 1+ year in a bakery, kitchen, or food production role preferred. Willingness to learn artisan baking techniques. Comfortable with early-morning shifts and a fast-paced environment. Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization. Understanding of basic food safety standards is a plus. Bilingual skills are a plus.
