Sweet Goodness Cakes & Bakes is a new trendy bakery in Orland Park, IL. We make artisan cakes and baked products. Openings available for a part-time cake decorator. Full Job Description Immediate opening available for part-time decorator position. Day shift Wednesday to Saturday.(24-30 hours) Looking for a creative, dedicated and positive team player with artistic ability to create works of art. A self-starter who can work quickly, efficiently and with good time management skills. Must be able to creatively reproduce designs, use images provided as inspiration for artistic decoration. Ability to scale ingredients, follow recipes and work with commercial baking equipment. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Responsibilities Communicate with front service staff on custom cake order designs. Use buttercream/fondant to cover and decorate custom single and multi tier cakes. Frost and decorate cupcakes for custom orders. Design, glaze and decorate sugar cookies. Ensure the quality and presentation of all products meet the established guidelines. Assist front service staff during peak hours. Track ingredient inventory levels and prepare restocking lists. Maintain a clean and organized work station, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Experience:

MUST have at least 2-3 years cake decorating experience in a bakery setting. Prior experience in stacking, frosting and decorating Cakes. Experience working with fondant, chocolate, and buttercream. Buttercream flower piping a plus (training can be provided) Tiered cake stacking / Wedding Cake preparation experience a plus, (training can be provided) Sugar cookie decorating experience a plus (training can be provided) Food Safe Serv certified or willing to take certification within 1 month of hire.
