Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our bakery team and help create high-quality sourdough breads that meet our standards for flavor and consistency. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys an early morning routine, working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and takes pride in producing fresh baked goods. Responsibilities Prepare doughs, batters, starters, and other bread components according to established recipes and production schedules. Mix, knead, proof, shape, score, and bake a variety of breads and related products. Monitor oven temperatures, baking times, and product quality to ensure consistent results. Measure ingredients accurately and maintain proper portioning and quality standards. Inspect finished products for appearance, texture, and doneness before display or distribution. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in compliance with food safety guidelines. Store ingredients and finished products properly to preserve freshness and reduce waste. Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and adjust to changing demand. Follow all safety, hygiene, and equipment-use procedures. Assist with inventory, restocking, and basic equipment cleaning and maintenance as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in baking, bread production, or a similar food preparation role is preferred. Knowledge of dough handling, fermentation, shaping techniques, and baking equipment. Ability to follow recipes, production instructions, and food safety standards accurately. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment. Good time management and organizational skills. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks. Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, or varying shifts as required. 3-4 days per week needed during summer, with more hours during the busy season. Typical hours are 4:30am to 12PM. Preferred Skills Experience with artisan breads, sourdough, laminated doughs, or specialty baked goods. Familiarity with commercial ovens, mixers, proofers, and other bakery equipment. Basic understanding of ingredient functions and dough development. Creative interest in developing new bread varieties or improving existing recipes. What We Offer A supportive and collaborative workplace environment. Opportunity to build skills and grow within the baking profession. The chance to contribute to a plant-based product line that customers enjoy every day. Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications. Additional Information We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where every team member is respected and valued. If you bring a passion for baking, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to quality, we encourage you to apply.
