Physician Practice Supervisor - Lane Family Practice Baker Lane Regional Medical Center - 3.5 Zachary, LA Job Details 2 days ago Qualifications Customer inquiry handling High school diploma or GED Clerical experience Full Job Description Provides supervision and support to the staff for the Physician Practice in accordance with the policies and procedures of Lane Regional Medical Office Clinic. Ensures that all patient accounts and inquiries are handled properly, proficient and in a professional manner. • Exhibits responsibility for the support of the Physician Practice Clinic Management and staff. Sufficiently ensures the confidentiality, security and safety of patient records and shall y comply with the requirements of LRMC policies and procedures. Proficiently works under the supervision of the Director of Physician Practice Management; collaborates on quality of care issues, budgetary needs, and operational efficiencies. Supervises and provides team leadership to the clinic staff for the physician clinic; ensures positive physician/staff relations. Assist with the process of annual performance evaluation on subordinate staff. Handles all patient account inquires. Stays current on basic Medicare, Medicaid and commercial carrier requirements. Researches any questionable charges; corrects billing before filing claims. Utilizes working reports to identify financial classes and aging accounts. Prepares monthly statements of accounts and mail them out by required dates. Sends past due letters at 30, 60, 90 and 120 days. Forwards delinquent accounts for collection. Receives bankruptcy, custody and other legal notices and inputs appropriate information and actions. Prepares and sends out all patient/insurance refunds accordingly assures that all payments are posted and adjusted accordingly in a timely manner. Ensures accurate reporting of information on monthly statements and reports. Explains and enforces the financial policy. Researches all Commercial/HMO/PPO denials. Re-files with corrected or additional information as needed. Files secondary insurance upon receipt of explanation of benefits from primary carrier. Attends educational training seminars/classes to maintain knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial carrier requirements. Actively participates in professional development opportunities assigned by Director of Physician Practice Management Services.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent Medical Office Certificate desired Minimum two years' experience of patient accounts Minimum three years office clerical experience, preferably in a physician office environment Education Required High School or better Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
