Job Description

We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and decorating cakes for various occasions, ensuring that each creation meets our high standards of quality and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and an eye for detail, along with experience in the food industry, particularly cake decorating, and work well in a fast-paced team environment. Josie's Bakery is a small business, and we pride ourselves in being a place where every order is tailored to each customer. We have the ability to create a flexible schedule. There is room to grow in the company, as we know that everyone has their own special skillset!
Responsibilities:
Answering phone calls and emails to take specialty orders Design and decorate cakes according to customer specifications and themes. Prepare fillings, and frostings while adhering to food safety standards. Utilize various decorating techniques to create visually appealing cake designs. Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide exceptional customer service. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area while following food preparation guidelines. Requirements Proven experience as a Cake Decorator or similar role in a restaurant or bakery setting. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen operations. Proficiency in cake decorating techniques, including fondant work, piping, and royal icing Strong leadership qualities, self-sufficient tendencies Tiered cake and wedding cake experience Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Join our team and bring your artistic talents to life through delicious creations!
Work Schedule:
Part-time (20+ hours/week), in-person work Will be a mix of weekdays, weekend, and holiday days Holiday periods may require more hours and flexibility in schedule to meet business needs
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
