Baker/Pastry Chef 85 Kercheval Avenue, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236 Part-time Part-time Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Baker/Pastry Chef to create fresh baked goods and new desserts. This energetic role requires a creative culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, bringing artistry and precision to every pastry creation. As a key member of our food production team, you will craft beautiful cakes, pastries, and confections for our customers whether for a coffee date or a special occasion. Your expertise in food handling, cake decorating, and food preparation will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and presentation. Join us to inspire sweet moments and turn culinary visions into reality! Responsibilities Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts with attention to detail and consistency. Decorate cakes and pastries using advanced cake decorating techniques to create visually stunning products. Package baked goods efficiently while maintaining freshness and presentation quality. Assist in food production tasks, including measuring ingredients, mixing batters, and assembling confections. Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to strict food safety standards and sanitation protocols. Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new recipes and improve existing menu items. Maintain cleanliness of the pastry station, including equipment sterilization and organization for optimal workflow. Support catering events by preparing large quantities of baked goods with precision and timeliness. Experience At least 2 years professional pastry experience in a professional kitchen or bakery setting, ideally within the food industry or restaurant environment. Strong skills in pastry creation, baking, food preparation, and food handling are essential. Demonstrated proficiency in culinary techniques such as knife skills, food safety practices, and food production processes. Prior experience with packaging baked goods for retail or catering purposes is preferred. Familiarity with kitchen equipment used in baking and pastry arts is required. Excellent customer service skills to engage with clients or team members effectively. Previous catering or restaurant experience will be considered an asset for this dynamic role.
