Baker At Bean & Bear Bagels, we are baking and preparing food for both the Bean & Bear Bagel shop and Ursa Minor Brewing Taproom. The Baker is responsible for the experience the customers have with our food offerings. Our dedication to quality, innovation, and commitment to local are key drivers of our success. The Baker is responsible for tasks that occur within our kitchen and being a member of our team who pushes our process forward. The core responsibilities of the Baker are as follows: Work independently and efficiently in the process of preparing our fresh ingredients daily Assist with inventory management as needed Maintain clean and safe kitchen environment - equipment, food practices, and staff safety Ensure food storage areas are properly stocked, rotated, labeled and cleaned Work as a team to provide quick and efficient service for bagel shop customers Food & Product knowledge & Preparation Team Collaboration & Support Duties and Responsibilities The duties of our Baker will vary and change throughout the seasons, and it is expected that the Baker will work with their team to ensure all duties are completed regardless of the season. A schedule that includes weekends and early mornings is expected in order to capture the kitchen's busiest times and to maintain consistency in our dough and prep items. Implement and continue to improve prep procedures Continually give constructive feedback to teammates Audit Procedures and recipes in collaboration with management when necessary Maintain clean and safe kitchen environment - equipment, food practices, and staff safety Improve efficiencies and continue to find better processes when possible Maintain clean and safe kitchen environment Keep equipment in working condition Adhering to safe food practices Practicing safe kitchen practices to avoid injury Cultivate clean and safe work environment by using First In, First Out and keeping all items clearly labeled and organized Team collaboration & support Actively collaborate with the team, helping coworkers and maintaining a positive atmosphere Willing to assist with various tasks in both customer facing and non-customer facing areas Participate in cross-training to enhance skill sets and promote team flexibility Foster a collaborative environment by actively resolving conflicts amicably and offering constructive feedback to both management and peers, focusing on open communication , mutual respect, and finding mutually beneficial solutions Qualifications and Education Requirements Available to work flexible schedules, including early mornings and weekends. Full-time (40+ hrs/wk) and part-time opportunities available Prior food service experience Excellent communication and organizational skills Exceptional customer service skills Attention to detail and ability to multi-task Ability to anticipate and proactively address problems in fast-paced environment Positive attitude and ability to work with diverse set of people Basic familiarity with POS software/ Google Workspace software Ability to lift 35-50lbs Ability to move full kegs with aid of dolly Aptitude for and desire to learn the mechanical workings of food service equipment to address problems quickly and efficiently Grace under pressure! Working conditions This position requires an individual who works under a range of circumstances, including: shift-work, weekend work, working with challenging patrons, working in the fast-paced environment, and working within close proximity of an operating production facility (noise, heavy equipment, odors relating to brewery & bakery process.) Physical Requirements This position includes standing for extended periods of time and/or assisting with beverage/kitchen service. This position also may be required to lift boxes/bags 35-50lbs and move empty/ full kegs with the help of a dolly. QSEHRA:
$250/mo plus $100/mo/dependent (For Full-Time employees) Dental & Life Insurance (For Full-Time employees) Paid time off 401K Retirement with up to 4% match
