Job Description

Battle Hill Brewing Company is a long-established full-service restaurant and brewery that has been in business since 2015. Our focus is on customer service, and our goal is to provide our guests with the best dining experience possible where food, beer, and service is unmatched. This position of Baker of Battle Hill Brewing Company is to create all of the hand-made rolls, bread loaves (grain bread and cranberry bread), and pretzel bites. Our bread is unique and hearty because we use the leftover spent grain from the brewing process of the beer. Hours are fully flexible based on the individual's schedule and generally ranges between 10-15 hours weekly on average. The successful candidate must have prior experience baking or cooking and be willing to read and follow the recipes and ingredients we use at the restaurant to ensure consistency of the bread. Essential skills are the ability to work independently, lift large bags of flour, show initiative, work quickly and efficiently, keep accurate records and inventory. and trouble shoot the baking process, which can be somewhat finicky as the temperature and humidity changes with the seasons. Training will be given by our current baker in preparation for this job. Previous baking experience is preferred. Read and follow the recipes of the restaurant for pretzel bites, rolls, and bread (grain bread and cranberry bread). Record bread inventory. Rotate newly baked bread in a First In, First Out system. Communicate to the Owner when material, supplies, ingredients, etc. need to be ordered. Flex the baking process as the temperature and humidity changes with the seasons. Work collaboratively with staff. Communicate well with customers Ability to lift large bags of flour Maintain accurate records. Be willing to create other short-term menu specials items as needed for the restaurant (e.g. sometimes we bake bread sticks, pizza bombs (small rolls filled with pepperoni/cheese, etc.) The Baker will report directly to the Owner.
