Job Description

Dana's Breads is a family-owned artisan bakery specializing in naturally fermented sourdough breads, Challahs, buns, pitas, and other handcrafted baked goods made with high-quality ingredients and traditional methods. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Artisan Bread Baker to join our growing team. This is a hands-on position focused on mixing, fermentation, shaping, proofing, and baking naturally leavened breads. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, consistency, and producing exceptional products every day. What You'll Do Mix and develop doughs according to established formulas Manage sourdough starters and fermentation schedules Scale, divide, pre-shape, and shape artisan breads Monitor fermentation, proofing, and baking processes Bake breads to meet our quality and consistency standards Assist with production planning and inventory management Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace Follow food safety and sanitation procedures Work closely with ownership and the production team to continuously improve quality and efficiency Our Bread Program Includes Naturally fermented sourdough breads Challahs Sandwich loaves Buns and rolls Pocket pitas Specialty seasonal breads Other artisan baked goods Qualifications Previous professional baking experience required Experience with sourdough fermentation strongly preferred Understanding of baker's percentages, dough development, hydration, and fermentation Ability to work independently and maintain production schedules Strong attention to detail and product consistency Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Bonus Experience High-volume bread production Deck oven operation Dough sheeters, dividers, and bakery equipment Production planning and inventory management Training or mentoring other bakers What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Employee discounts Flexible scheduling Stable, year-round employment Opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding artisan bakery Supportive family-owned work environment The chance to work with quality ingredients and traditional bread-making techniques At Dana's Breads, we believe great bread comes from patience, proper fermentation, simple ingredients, and people who genuinely care about their craft.
