Job Description
PONTO is a small Korean-inspired bakery cafe in Portland focused on salt bread and simple coffee. We're looking for an experienced and responsible baker to join our team.
This position is best suited for someone who already has dough handling experience and understands how to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume bakery environment.
Position RequirementsPrevious bakery experience preferredDough handling experience strongly preferredAble to shape, proof, and bake consistentlyStrong sense of urgency and kitchen flowClean, organized, and detail-orientedReliable, punctual, and responsibleGood communication and teamworkOpen to feedback and willing to grow with the teamResponsibilitiesDough preparation and handling / Evening teamShaping, panning, proofing, and baking / Evening teamPreparing fillings and toppings / Morning teamMaintaining consistency and product qualitySupporting teammates during busy production hoursKeeping the kitchen clean and organizedImportant NotesConsistency and speed are both very importantMistakes happen, but we value people who learn quickly and avoid repeating the same mistakesWeekend availability strongly preferredLong-term availability preferredApproximately 4 working days per weekEnvironmentFast-paced, high-volume bakeryEarly morning shifts requiredSmall team environment with close communicationCompensationStarting pay: At $17.50-$18.50/hr + tips •Opportunity for raises based on performance and growthAverage hourly earnings, including tips, currently range from approximately $23-$33/hr, depending on weekly sales and tip volume.
