IMPORTANT SCHEDULING REQUIREMENT
Applicants MUST be available to work weekends. Candidates who are unable to work weekends will NOT be considered for this position. Open availability is required, as schedules may vary based on the needs of the store. Responsibilities Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner. Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with bakery questions and requests. Bake and prepare a variety of bakery products according to recipes and department standards. Decorate cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items with attention to detail and presentation. Prepare cakes and other specialty bakery items for customer orders. Write messages and personalize cakes and bakery products as requested. Fill, frost, ice, and decorate cakes and other baked goods. Package, label, price, and properly display bakery products. Prepare products for grab-and-go displays and customer orders. Maintain attractive and fully stocked bakery displays. Monitor product freshness, quality, dates, and proper rotation. Follow recipes, preparation instructions, and portion guidelines. Operate bakery equipment safely and properly. Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures. Keep work areas, display cases, equipment, counters, and storage areas clean and organized. Assist with inventory, receiving, stocking, and organizing bakery supplies and products. Complete customer cake and special orders accurately and on time. Work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment with frequent customer interaction and high-volume periods . Handle multiple orders and tasks while maintaining quality and attention to detail. Assist customers promptly and professionally during busy periods. Work as part of a team and assist coworkers when needed. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous bakery, cake decorating, food service, grocery, or customer service experience is preferred. Experience with cake decorating, frosting, piping, and basic bakery preparation is a plus. Ability to bake and follow recipes and preparation instructions. Strong attention to detail and an eye for presentation. Creative and artistic ability, particularly with cake and dessert decorating. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Friendly, professional, and positive attitude. Dependable, punctual, and hardworking. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment . Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently during busy periods. Ability to complete customer orders accurately and meet deadlines. Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures. Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks associated with the position. Willingness to learn new skills and assist in multiple departments. Must be available to work weekends .
