Cake Maker

Starting Pay Range:

$11 - $12 and up

Purpose of Job:

Assemble and prepare soft serve and DQ Blizzard cakes and cupcakes according to recipes. Ensure that all cakes meet the Dairy Queen standards of quality and excellence.

Essential Functions:

Prepare cakes according to recipes or special requests by customers. Properly and safely operate and maintain cake and soft serve equipment while following all health and safety standards. Maintain an adequate inventory of prepared cake blanks ready to be decorated, including additional production during holidays, national promotions and other peak cake occasions. Keep cake production area and equipment clean throughout the shift. Stock items and organize as needed. Perform other duties as requested by management staff.

Qualification Standards:

Have the desire and drive to produce many cakes during a shift. Be able to follow and maintain set par levels for desired inventory on hand. Willingness to train and learn the proper procedures for operating soft serve equipment and cake equipment. Capability to stand for periods of time and may need to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to learn and adhere to all food safety standards. Have a positive attitude and exhibit good manners, proper personal hygiene and promptness.
