About Us:
Tantisimo is an independent Latin American restaurant serving Sylvan Park six days per week. We are open from 10am-2pm and 5pm-10pm, Tuesday-Sunday. With our first year under our belt, we are looking forward to building with someone who is passionate about the hospitality industry.
Summary:
Prepare and produce high-quality pastry, dessert and baked items during the PM shift. Ensure consistency, presentation, food safety and efficient service support in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce desserts, plated sweets, pastries, breads, fillings, sauces, and garnishes to recipes and standards. Execute mise en place for evening service: portioning, proofing, baking, finishing, and plating. Decorate and assemble desserts with precision and consistent presentation. Monitor quality and freshness; rotate stock and implement FIFO. Maintain proper food safety, sanitation, and temperature control (follow HACCP/servsafe guidelines). Collaborate with line cooks and chefs to fulfill ticketed orders during service. Adjust recipes and production to meet demand; minimize waste and manage yield. Clean and maintain pastry station, equipment, and storage areas at shift end. Record prep quantities, inventory needs, and communicate shortages to supervisor. Assist in special event or pastry menu development as requested.
Qualifications:
1-3 years of professional pastry/bakery experience; fine-dining or high-volume kitchen experience preferred.
Familiarity with pastry techniques:
laminations, custards, tempering chocolate, piping, and decorative finishes. Basic knowledge of recipe scaling, portion control, and cost-conscious production. Food handler's certification / ServSafe preferred or required per local regulations. Ability to work evening hours and weekends; reliable attendance. Open availability preferred.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong attention to detail and presentation. Ability to work quickly under pressure and prioritize tasks. Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical stamina:
standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, repetitive motions.
Compensation:
Hourly pay range: $18-22 depending on experience.
Dining Discounts Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
