We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated person to join our team. Professional baking experience is preferred, but hobby bakers with a strong work history are encouraged to apply. Experience as a line cook or experience in a kitchen is a plus. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be punctual, and responsible. Working weekends and most holidays is required. Requires heavy lifting (50 LBS), basic math, ability to multi-task, and attention to detail. Most of the time will be spent standing on hard tile floors, at times floors may be wet; therefore athletic shoes with good traction are recommended. Responsibilities

• Shape dough to prepare different types of pastries, including conchas, cookies, donuts and sweet rolls
• Bake custom-made pastries based on customers' preferences (e.g. birthday cakes)
• Baking different bread types, like conchas, cinnamon rolls donuts, empanadas and danishes
• Baking cakes and cookies and making fillings and frostings
• Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough
• Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
• Mix various ingredients to create fillings for cakes and pastries (e.g. chocolate ganache, buttercream frosting and donut glaze)
• Panning menus and baking pastries, breads, cookies, and bars
• Track ingredient supplies and fill out grocery lists
• Clean kitchen equipment and tools before/after use
• Will sometimes need to help with packaging the product
• General daily cleanup
• Keep work areas sanitary by sweeping floors regularly and wiping counters to immediately clean up any spills.
• Must have good communication skills and be willing to work with the general public and team members. Requirements and skills
• Experience as a Baker is preferred; some baking experience/ familiarity is necessary.
• Understanding of food safety practices
• Excellent time-management skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
• Flexibility to work in early morning shifts
• Ability to work in cross functional roles as needed (front-of house & back-of-house)
• Must have reliable transportation
• Able to kneel, bend, and reach overhead repeatedly.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to taste product for quality assurance i.e. buttercream(s), cake(s) and cupcake(s)batter, cookie dough and other recipes as assigned.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
• Good reading and math skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills
