Job Description
Assistant Manager / Cake DecoratorOverview We are looking for a dependable, creative, and detail-oriented Assistant Manager/Cake Decorator to join our team. This position combines cake decorating, ice cream production, customer service, inventory management, staff scheduling, and daily store operations. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and able to help lead the team while maintaining high standards for product quality, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Prepare and decorate cakes and specialty ice cream treats according to customer orders and brand standards Manage daily cake production to ensure freshness, quality, and availability Handle custom and specialty cake orders with creativity and attention to detail Prepare ice cream and other store products as needed Maintain a clean, attractive, and fully stocked cake display case Monitor and manage inventory, including cakes, ice cream, mix-ins, icing, decorating supplies, and other store products Assist with employee scheduling and shift coverage Support, train, and guide team members during assigned shifts Provide friendly and professional customer service Assist customers with cake orders, product selections, and questions Support front-of-store operations, including order preparation and register duties Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with food-safety standards Help open or close the store when scheduled Collaborate with team members to meet production, sales, and customer-service goals Qualifications Previous cake decorating experience is preferred Previous supervisory, shift-lead, or assistant-manager experience is preferred Strong creativity and artistic skills Dependable, punctual, and reliable Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities Good organizational and time-management skills Strong customer-service and communication skills Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Willingness to learn and use cake-decorating and ice-cream-making equipment Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Compensation $15.00-$18.00 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications.
