Competitive and based on education and experience Job Summary Join our Bakery team and help create the fresh breads, rolls, cakes, pastries and other baked goods our customers love! The Baker measures, mixes, prepares, proofs and bakes products according to established recipes and production standards. This position also helps create an outstanding customer experience by providing exceptional service and maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment that encourages customers to return. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Measure, scale and mix ingredients to meet daily production requirements. Prepare dough for breads, rolls, buns and other bakery products. Prepare mixes for cakes, cupcakes and additional baked goods. Proof products before baking. Operate bakery ovens and coordinate baking schedules. Monitor products throughout each stage of production to ensure consistent quality. Follow established recipes, procedures and production schedules. Assist apprentices and doughnut fryers in developing the speed and techniques needed to produce quality products efficiently. Assist the Bakery Manager with the overall operation of the department as needed. Provide decorating ideas and display suggestions to other Bakery team members. Identify equipment problems and make minor adjustments when appropriate or report issues so repairs can be arranged. Maintain clean, organized and properly sanitized work areas and equipment. Follow all food safety, sanitation and workplace safety requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Bakery experience is preferred. 6 months of previous professional baking experience is preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. Able to follow written recipes, instructions and procedures accurately. Able to communicate pleasantly and effectively with customers, vendors and fellow employees. Strong time-management and organizational skills. Dependable, with a strong work ethic and a high level of integrity. Able to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team. Work Schedule Scheduled hours will vary based on production and business needs. This position may be required to work early mornings, overnight shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays. While Chuck's Fresh Markets strives to provide employees with stable schedules, scheduling may vary based on department staffing, production needs and changing business conditions. This position may also be assigned to cover shifts at either Chuck's Fresh Markets Bakery location as needed.
