In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations during your shift, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a high standard of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage a fast-paced café environment. Duties Lead and motivate the barista team to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a positive work environment. Operate Toast POS system for efficient order processing and cash handling. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices during all food preparation and service. Train new staff on coffee preparation techniques, customer service standards, and café operations. Manage inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock of coffee beans, supplies, and other products. Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues that arise during your shift with professionalism and care. Monitor sales performance and assist in achieving store sales goals through effective upselling techniques. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment maintenance and sanitation practices. Qualifications Previous barista experience preferred, with a strong knowledge of coffee preparation methods. Experience in the food industry or food service is preferred, with an understanding of food safety standards. Proficiency in using POS systems such as Toast is highly desirable. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers and team members alike. Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations. Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
